Herb Ritts
Exhibition at Maison européenne de la photographie
Paris, October 2016
With his trademark black and white, Herb Ritts shows us perfect bodies, handsome and famous people, models… Under the California sun and through the photographer’s eye, everything is sculpted and perfectly posed. A contemporary of Helmut Newton, Richard Avedon and Robert Mapplethorpe, Ritts makes us worship the bodies he reveals, but can also show his humorous side when taking shots of cinema or pop stars. For example, his images of Madonna are perhaps the most famous even taken of her.

Daniel Jaems
@danieljaems
London
Obsession or Palms series are perfect illustrations of Daniel Jaems art. The large body of work focuses on the structural architecture of the male form. Daniel Jaems developed a signature tone to these series making them instantly recognisable. The way he uses shadows like printed on skin combined with a unique mix of soft & hard lights is pure masterpiece. Masculine beauty is the size of the prize.

Bettina Rheims

Paris, March 2016
Eroticism, sensuality, humor and ostentation were all themes of the spring exhibition at the Maison Européenne de la Photographie, dedicated to none other than Bettina Rheims, a photographer who has been questioning, exposing and glorifying the female body for 40 years. One hundred and eighty images were showcased from her first photos to her most recent work, mixing iconic photos with confidential works never before seen in France, displayed neither thematically nor chronologically but instead, creating an emotional journey.

Ren Hang
Exhibition at Maison européenne de la photographie
Paris, March 2019
Late iconic photographer Ren Hang was honored with a dynamic solo presentation at The Maison Européenne de la Photographie in Paris. The Beijing-based artist took his own life in 2017 after suffering from cyclical depression. The exhibition titled, “Love, Ren Hang,” showcased over 150 archival photographs by Hang. These images offered a raw view of the late photographer’s visually moving practice spanning portraits of his mother, provocative snapshots of his close friends and photographs of nightlife in China. His prolific works have served as a form of commentary, touching on topics of self-identity and sexual freedom.

Annie Leibovitz
MasterClass
Worldwide, March 2025
Staged intimacy, theatrical flair, and psychological depth defined the retrospective devoted to Annie Leibovitz, held at the National Portrait Gallery. A visionary of staged portraiture, Leibovitz has spent decades immortalizing cultural icons with a signature blend of intimacy and grandeur. From early photojournalism at Rolling Stone to lavishly constructed celebrity portraits for Vanity Fair and Vogue, the exhibition traced her evolution through over two hundred photographs. Eschewing strict chronology, the curation revealed her obsession with character and narrative, merging the personal with the mythic in an exploration of fame, identity, and storytelling.

Fabien Baron
@fabienbaron
Paris
One of fashion’s most illustrious creative directors, Fabien Baron (with his agency Baron & Baron, founded in 1990) is the genius behind many of fashion’s most iconic images : Calvin Klein, Giorgio Armani, Burberry, Givenchy, Yves Saint Laurent, Fendi or Guerlain. But I like even more when the photographer shifts his lens from the fashion world to nature. Perhaps because he studied design, sculpture and painting, he shoots landscapes, trees or icebergs like sculptures.
